Located about 1600 m above sea level and in an area of 26.2 sq. km., Munnar lies in the Western Ghats of South India joining the borders of Tamil Nadu and eastern parts of Central Kerala. Munnar lies in the amalgamation of Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala mountains. Munnar is a hill station located in the Idukki district of Kerala; India. It beckons the famous Kannan Devan Hills.
Munnar is well known for its milky waterfalls, tea and spices plantations, lakes and Dams.Munnar is especially known for the Neelakurinji flowers that bloom once in 12 years in Rajamala turning it into hill of blue flowers. Besides natures charm, Munnar is an ideal destination for active sports including trekking, boating ,horse riding ,elephant riding , fishing and paragliding.
